I'm a (part-time) sysadmin for the Free Software Foundation. We have a Campaign for a free BIOS, because a Free BIOS is essential to achieve true computing freedom.
Where possible, we only buy hardware capable of running coreboot. Currently, we are standardizing on AMD-based systems: in terms of servers we have some Tyan systems and more recently we've purchased a Silicon Mechanics A236 server. We also have a bunch of Gigabyte M57SLI-S4 based machines, and a few PC Engines ALIX boards.
